Building bridges

While traveling to Europe over last week, I keep coming across small groups of compatriots traveling the world. Here in Europe american tourists are a part of a series of jokes. The stereotypes are that we are loud and insistent, muse at ordinary (for locals) things. But thta seems to be changing… As we have had dinner late last night, two young American guys were sitting having a soup and having a conversation, quitely, unobtrusively. Then as we were coming back to the hotel, a couple of girls were there waiting for the elevator and having a conversation, quitely. Thought they couldnt beat a japanese man, who stood soundless head down and back to all of us as he was flipping through pictures on his camera.

American tourists are changing. So is american society.
